Oh, those hiccups
When I was pregnant with Oliver he had the hiccups aaaallll the time. In the middle of the night, during the day, at my doctor appointments, and even at the hospital when I was in labor! Now that he's here, he still gets those dang hiccups. As if being a new parent isn't hard enough, we have to deal with this little factor that can ruin everything! He normally gets the hiccups in the middle of the night right after he eats. Of course, he eats about 3 times throughout the night, and right as we get him to fall asleep the hiccups hit and he's WIDE awake for the next 30 minutes, at least. Yes, they last that long! These hiccups seem to be pretty aggressive too. Maybe, they aren't but hey, this is baby number one for us so we think they are! I was able to catch them on video, but it was just on my phone so you can't hear the little squeak that comes along with those hiccups. We;ll work on getting a better video up!

Our Little Oliver
We finally have our little boy! Oliver Lee Walton was born on May 8, at approximately 4 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs 15 oz and was 20 inches long.

We had quite the time actually getting him here though... so here is our story!
First off, we decided to induce that morning. We headed in and got to the hospital at about 7:30 in the morning as directed by our Doc. Well, he of course didn't show up until about 9:00. Typical. We really do actually love our doctor! We finally get things rolling shortly there after and expected to be in labor for the entire day. Fortunately for us, or so we thought at the time, this baby was ready to come! I was dilated to a 6 by noon, and as our doctor was checking me he said he felt a little hand! We thought that was pretty cool, but then my water broke (while he was still checking me...) At that point my doctor told us that our little boy had actually grabbed his finger! Never expected that one, huh?
After all of that, I got my epidural, call me what you will, but those things are AMAZING! Totally recommend it to anyone. About an hour later, the nurse comes in to check me again. But this time she says that she doesn't think it's a hand she is feeling, but instead she thinks it's a foot! At this point Terry and I look at each other like, "This nurse is insane, how did we get stuck with her??" She immediately calls our doctor and much to our surprise... it IS a foot. Imagine this, our baby was trying to come out with his head, hand, and foot all at the same time! This is where it gets exciting.
Our doctor then goes and calls a specialist. This specialist had never heard anything like it! Aren't specialist supposed to see every unusual case in the book?! Yeah, that's what we thought too. The specialist basically left our doctor with a, "Good luck" and that was it. Our doctor was able to manipulate his foot back up into my belly, but then his umbilical cord slipped! Every time I had a contraction, Oliver's head would push against his umbilical cord which caused his heart rate to drop, and would stop his body from getting what it needed from my body.
"C-section" had already been thrown around a few times, so when I told my doctor to do whatever he thought was the safest, he looked at me and said we needed to go to the operating room. By this time, Terry was pretty frantic and I was doing everything I could not to cry. When we got to the operating room, they were poking and pinching me to make sure I couldn't feel anything, but of course, I had what they call a "window" where it didn't go completely numb. Our anesthesiologist told me later that he had never seen or heard of anything like it. We were just an extremely weird case apparently! They ended up having to put me completely out, so then they had to to get the baby out as fast as they could, it took them 3 minutes. We went in just in time, because he was blue when he came out. He is healthy now however, and that is all that really matters!
Even though, it wasn't our ideal delivery, or even close to any kind of delivery we would have expected, we couldn't be more happy with our little boy. We can tell from the way he was born that we have a lot on our hands with this little guy!

Down Right Perfect.
Meet Uncle Brad.
![]() | |
| Hi Uncle Brad! |
This is Terry's uncle. He is 59 years old, and Tracy's big brother. Plus, he has Down Syndrome. He is currently living in a nursing home in Caldwell, so this passed weekend we went to visit him! This is the first time Terry and I have been able to visit since Brad has moved over to Caldwell and it was a very tender experience; well for me at least.
We drove over with Tracy and Sherri (Terry's parents) since we had never been there before. Tracy knows his way around the facility pretty well and found Brad almost instantly. Tracy takes good care of his big brother.

Apparently, Brad loves to go outside. The moment Tracy asked him if he was ready to go for a walk, he started laughing and smiling! It was so heart-warming! As I watched my father-in-law wheel Brad around I just kept thinking how lucky I was to have married into such a wonderful family! Brad doesn't talk much these days, but anytime Tracy would say something to him, he was respond in some way. Whether it was a smile, a frown, or even nodding "yes" or "no." I was able to catch a tiny glimpse of what their relationship was really like and I felt very blessed to have witnessed it.

Ready to POP!
Okay, we have been cleared by the doctor to try to "naturally induce." So, in attempt to have this kid already, I have tried nearly everything!
Things I've tried so far:
Things I've tried so far:
- Running (I can't imagine this looks good)
- Skipping
- Eating basil
- Air squats
- Bouncing on the exercise ball
- Riding on the tractor
- Riding on the four wheeler and aggresively hitting every bump in the road
- Took an incredibly bumpy car ride with Terry
- My doctor's wife swears by pizza and nonalcoholic beer, but Terry would only settle for rootbeer!
- LOT'S of walking
- Cleaning
- Oh, and these funny hip swaying things
- Weeding
- More exercising of different sorts
- My mother swears by scrubbing the floor (worth a shot!)

Time Flies!
Oh boy, oh boy! Well... it's been almost a year since we've posted anything new! Oops! I'll try to quickly fill in everyone on what we've been up to!
Last June we bought a home! It's a cozy little farm house that we are slowly making our own. It was pretty outdated (by outdated I mean everything was 70's green) but we are definitely making it more modern! The only green thing left in our house is the carpet, which will come out just as soon as we can afford it! (We'll post pictures of our house eventually).
In September we found out we were pregnant! It was such an exciting time for us, and as we are coming up to the end of the pregnancy we're realizing it's a bit scary too. I ask Terry all the time, "What if I'm not a good mom?" and his loving response is always, "Well, I guess you'll figure it out pretty quick then!" He's scared too, he just acts all macho about it... Our baby boy is due May 13, which also happens to be Mother's Day! But we are expecting him to come sooner than that, at least that's what Doc says, so we're hoping he's right... especially me.
This passed December I graduated with my Associate of the Arts degree from TVCC. It was a big accomplishment and I'm glad I was able to finish it before our little rugrat got here. I might also add that I do NOT miss going to Ontario. Period.
Terry and I also celebrated our one year anniversary on December 18, 2011. That year sure did go by fast too! The kids in church apparently always tell their parents that we're not old enough to be married, but by law we barely made the cut off!
Farming. We made it a whole year farming! A successful year if I might add, because I'm still willing to make it our career! We made some big purchases for this next year. A new tractor, a couple of disks, and 70 acres of land (let's face it the house came with the land, which is the only reason we have a house!). I thought I would absolutely hate farming when Terry and I first got married, but turns out that I love it! There is a huge sense of accomplishment that comes from watching something grow from a little seed and then getting paid for it is always nice too! I should have given farming a shot before I told myself how awful it was. Plus, Terry loves it and I can't complain about a husband who is happy with his job.
I think we're about up to date on all of the more major things that have gone on in our lives. I have to laugh at the last post that we made because it talks about how our corn was sprouting, well guess what? Our corn is sprouting now and it is still just as exciting for me this year as it was last year! We will do better about posting on here, hopefully.

Blogs, Tractors, and 400 meter Dashes
Okay, maybe blogging was a bad idea . We never have time, and I don't know what to say! So here is another poor attempt at this whole blogging thing . Anyways, farming is well underway and we had our first cutting of hay today and our corn is GROWING! That's big to me, well, farming in general seems to be big to me . Big tractors, big fields, big trucks, BIG EVERYTHING .
Farming, I've learned, isn't just a job, it's a life style . We sleep, eat, and breathe farming . Terry of course loves it and is conditioned to it, but I for one am not so fond of the waking up early and... well, mostly just the waking up early, so far that's all I really dislike . Track at TVCC is finally over! I placed 3rd in the 400 meter dash at our conference meet, so I'd say that's a positive way to end the season!
One more week left and school will be out for the summer, and then one more quarter until I have my associates and will be done with Ontario, the city of onions . Good riddance! Terry and I will both be happier people when the whole school thing is over . Until then, sorry for any grumpy attitudes we may have .

| The most fun I had during track was taking this picture of a mushroom in the middle of a turf field. |

Blogging?
I have always felt like blogging was only for married people, so now that we're married we're going to blog. It really is the "married" thing to do. Since this is our first blogging session (thanks to a load of help from other people) we aren't going to be very good right off the bat, so we're apologizing now for anything that might not be as blog worthy as we thought!
Little bit about us:
Little bit about us:
- We were married December 18, 2010
- We live in a trailor... (that's right, be jealous)
- We are FARMERS! Well, mostly Terry...
- No, we're not pregnant. Please, stop asking.
