Down Right Perfect.

Meet Uncle Brad.

Hi Uncle Brad!

This is Terry's uncle. He is 59 years old, and Tracy's big brother. Plus, he has Down Syndrome. He is currently living in a nursing home in Caldwell, so this passed weekend we went to visit him! This is the first time Terry and I have been able to visit since Brad has moved over to Caldwell and it was a very tender experience; well for me at least.

We drove over with Tracy and Sherri (Terry's parents) since we had never been there before. Tracy knows his way around the facility pretty well and found Brad almost instantly. Tracy takes good care of his big brother.

Apparently, Brad loves to go outside. The moment Tracy asked him if he was ready to go for a walk, he started laughing and smiling! It was so heart-warming! As I watched my father-in-law wheel Brad around I just kept thinking how lucky I was to have married into such a wonderful family! Brad doesn't talk much these days, but anytime Tracy would say something to him, he was respond in some way. Whether it was a smile, a frown, or even nodding "yes" or "no." I was able to catch a tiny glimpse of what their relationship was really like and I felt very blessed to have witnessed it.

Ready to POP!

Okay, we have been cleared by the doctor to try to "naturally induce." So, in attempt to have this kid already, I have tried nearly everything!

Things I've tried so far:
  • Running (I can't imagine this looks good)
  • Skipping
  • Eating basil
  • Air squats
  • Bouncing on the exercise ball
  • Riding on the tractor
  • Riding on the four wheeler and aggresively hitting every bump in the road
  • Took an incredibly bumpy car ride with Terry
  • My doctor's wife swears by pizza and nonalcoholic beer, but Terry would only settle for rootbeer!
  • LOT'S of walking
  • Cleaning
  • Oh, and these funny hip swaying things
Today I will attempt:
  • Weeding
  • More exercising of different sorts
  • My mother swears by scrubbing the floor (worth a shot!)
Unfortunately yesterday's attempts only made me incredibly tired and sore today. If anyone knows of something that ACTUALLY works, please let us know!

Time Flies!

Oh boy, oh boy! Well... it's been almost a year since we've posted anything new! Oops! I'll try to quickly fill in everyone on what we've been up to!
Last June we bought a home! It's a cozy little farm house that we are slowly making our own. It was pretty outdated (by outdated I mean everything was 70's green) but we are definitely making it more modern! The only green thing left in our house is the carpet, which will come out just as soon as we can afford it! (We'll post pictures of our house eventually).
In September we found out we were pregnant! It was such an exciting time for us, and as we are coming up to the end of the pregnancy we're realizing it's a bit scary too. I ask Terry all the time, "What if I'm not a good mom?" and his loving response is always, "Well, I guess you'll figure it out pretty quick then!" He's scared too, he just acts all macho about it... Our baby boy is due May 13, which also happens to be Mother's Day! But we are expecting him to come sooner than that, at least that's what Doc says, so we're hoping he's right... especially me.

36 Weeks. We thought it would be fun to compare
my huge belly to a basketball
This passed December I graduated with my Associate of the Arts degree from TVCC. It was a big accomplishment and I'm glad I was able to finish it before our little rugrat got here. I might also add that I do NOT miss going to Ontario. Period.
Terry and I also celebrated our one year anniversary on December 18, 2011. That year sure did go by fast too! The kids in church apparently always tell their parents that we're not old enough to be married, but by law we barely made the cut off!
Farming. We made it a whole year farming! A successful year if I might add, because I'm still willing to make it our career! We made some big purchases for this next year. A new tractor, a couple of disks, and 70 acres of land (let's face it the house came with the land, which is the only reason we have a house!). I thought I would absolutely hate farming when Terry and I first got married, but turns out that I love it! There is a huge sense of accomplishment that comes from watching something grow from a little seed and then getting paid for it is always nice too! I should have given farming a shot before I told myself how awful it was. Plus, Terry loves it and I can't complain about a husband who is happy with his job.
I think we're about up to date on all of the more major things that have gone on in our lives. I have to laugh at the last post that we made because it talks about how our corn was sprouting, well guess what? Our corn is sprouting now and it is still just as exciting for me this year as it was last year! We will do better about posting on here, hopefully.
